Mavionics Governor Controller brings a smarter way to operate hydraulic propellers — replacing the legacy push-pull cable linkage with a much more intelligent solution.

The mechanical governor itself, mounted behind the engine's gearbox, stays in place and is simply supplemented with a precision-positioning adapter; what changes is the way you interact with it.

Mavionics provides a control unit and a clear color display that shows engine RPM, current fuel consumption, and the position of the throttle and the hydraulic governor in real time.

Everything is operated with a single push-button rotary encoder — simple and clear, with no unnecessary extra functions.

The system is equipped with safety modes that allow a safe return to base if the CAN BUS signal is lost or a power failure occurs in flight.

A universal control algorithm keeps the RPM stable, without oscillation or hunting.

The full version offers three operating modes:

• AUTOMATIC: The system is adjusting the prop fully automatically, based on throttle (single-lever power control)
• CONSTANT SPEED: The system keeps the engine at a selected RPM, automatically adjusting the prop
• MANUAL: You set the prop just how you want it, no automatic intervention

For pilots who prefer a more minimalistic setup, Mavionics also offers the option to operate the system without the 57mm instrument display. In this streamlined configuration, the controller runs in a single selected mode. This makes it an ideal solution for aircraft where there’s no room for a standard 57mm panel instrument on the dashboard. Putting it plainly, the device comes with three base configurations:

• DISPLAY (57mm instrument): All operation modes in one device, most versatile configuration
• NO DISPLAY with CONSTANT SPEED: RPM selection via a small selector switch
• NO DISPLAY with fully AUTOMATIC: without any control switch, single lever control regime

The control dial can be placed externally from the 57mm instrument, so you can keep it close at hand, while the interface is placed in a less accessible but still visible place. The CONSTANT SPEED rotary selector is easily adaptable—it can be mechanically configured to suit each aircraft specific needs, with adjustable number of position (from 2 to 8 positions) and predefined RPM values assigned to each position.
